Who doesn’t love a big white modern barn wedding? First, I have to say, it is so crazy how time really FLIES when you’re planning a wedding! Second, Kourtney and Colby’s wedding day really snuck upon us and the night went by in a flash! Not only did I have the best time, but their family was also incredibly humble and kind to me. I could also totally see myself being friends with all the bridesmaids 😉 they were SO helpful and patient the entire day!
Kourtney and I met for the first time at her bridal session (blog here! ). I wasn’t surprised to see that she was super relaxed on her wedding day despite all the moving parts and Texas heat! The Nest at Ruth Farms is such a special venue for me. My very first session was here at the beginning of my photography career and it felt SO GOOD to be back at this beautiful place. The white barn was PERFECT for lighting ALL around, making my job crazy easy.
The Brackin wedding day was inspired by a modern farmhouse theme. The beautiful white barn in Ponder, Texas fulfilled all their wishes and brought THE BEST light I’ve ever shot in. Her wedding gown was lace with beaded straps, my favorite part was the back of her dress that zipped up with mock buttons. I have so many parts of a wedding day that I love but I’d like to touch on the top 3. First, I’d have to say my favorite part of the day was the first look she decided to have with BOTH her Dad, and stepdad. It was so emotional and intimate, the perfect alternative for the first look with Colby. Although BOTH fathers said they wouldn’t cry, the moment they turned around, the waterworks came rushing in. Second, my next favorite part of the day was watching Colby’s reaction as he watched his bride walk down the aisle with not ONE, but BOTH her Dads. Truly, a heart-wrenching moment for their families.
